Katie has over 10 years of experience in providing speech-language pathology and swallowing services within the Madison, WI community and surrounding areas. Through her experience, she has cultivated a passion for equitable access for all people— not only to SLP services— but also to their respective communities to achieve success, healing, and connection to others. In founding Romero Speech Therapy LLC, Katie aims to use evidence based techniques, supported by research, to facilitate client access and participation in the spaces important to them.

She is a licensed SLP in the states of Wisconsin and California and holds the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC). She has training and experience in evaluating and treating cognitive, communication, and swallowing difficulties in clients living with a variety of neurogenic conditions. Katie also has specific interest and experience in providing cross-linguistic and language matched (Spanish) multilingual services, employing community resources (such as interpreters) as necessary.
